Paul has been practicing law for nearly 25 years. Â During this time, he has proudly represented hundreds of people who have been tragically injured, and has served an extremely diverse range of communities within New York City, as well as in various other jurisdictions throughout the United States.
For 14 years, Paul has been board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Â This distinction is unique, and held by only 4% of the lawyers in the United States of America. Â Paul is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocacy, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, and the American Association for Justice.
Through his hard work and dedication, Mr. Schlemmer has secured numerous million dollar and multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements for his injured clients. Â However, he is always acutely aware, that while these monetary results represent justice and vindication for the injured, they will never truly replace the physical and emotional losses that have been suffered.
Â
Paul N. Schlemmer graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in 1994. He received his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana, in 1997.  While attending law school, Mr. Schlemmer petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court and was granted permission to take the bar exam early, and passed the bar exam prior to graduating law school.  After graduating, he then took the New York and New Jersey bar exams, which he passed as well.
Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Schlemmer held a variety of positions. Some of the more interesting included working in a factory as a triple lathe operator making fiberglass tubing, working as a roofer, working as a mover, a landscaper, a swimming instructor, a waterfront director, and a lifeguard on a white water rescue team during World Cup Kayaking events. Â In all of these positions, the issue of safety was paramount, and provided some unique insights for practicing law as a personal injury attorney.
When he is not practicing law, Paul spends time with family and friends, and enjoys outdoor activities. Â Â
